Two Fishersville residents avoided jail time early Saturday after an Albemarle County jury found them each guilty of two of three charges stemming from the slaying of a pig from the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. Lee Edward Oakes Jr., 33, and Jerelyn Aymarie Sutter, 27, were found guilty of felony killing of livestock and misdemeanor animal cruelty, and not guilty of felony theft of livestock, a defense attorney said Saturday.
