[ALBEMARLE] The pews of Albemarle County’s Circuit Court were relatively full two weeks ago when a county prosecutor successfully convicted two Fishersville residents of animal cruelty and the felony killing of a pig. Some in the gallery were there for the defendants; others were attorneys, eager to see the outcome of the bizarre case. But some, like Lorelei Pulliam, were there on behalf of the pig that lost its life. While this case was certainly a standout, Pulliam says that the treatment of pigs in this area is a bigger problem.
